As is inevitable, we have spent more time finishing some things up. Today in Coordinate Algebra, we finished the paper I posted on Friday involving dimensional analysis. Tomorrow we are going to start two things....an EOCT review on Accuracy with Units and a revisit of a task from 8th grade, Cara's Candles. They are attached below....
In Accelerated Math III, we are finishing the stats unit from Acc. II over the next part of the week. Attached below is today's paper (experimental design/observational studies) and tomorrow's paper (probability distributions).
Here is the sheet for Coordinate Algebra....
Below are the links for the work available online for each class: Coordinate Algebra:

-Syllabus: See the tab -Info Sheet: To be done in class... -Summer Work: See me for any extra copies; I don't have an electronic copy. -Measures of Spread Review
-HW: Finish review and complete the vocab crossword
Here is the 1st day stuff: -Syllabus: See the Coor.Alg. tab -Student Info Sheet: This will done in class and taken up by me. -Discussion of Pre-Req Skills: These are things that we feel like you should know when you walk in the door on day 1. If you don't, don't freak out...we will get you there!
-PPT Problems: We will work through these in class as group. -HW: Review Sheet
Go to the following link and read the article. Bring me back a brief synopsis of the article including what the POINT of the article was....and P.S., it's NOT to tell you not to eat bread :)
http://www.patriotfiles.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24675 I found the neatest FREE resource during a summer workshop; Google Trends! If you go to http://www.google.com/trends/explore#cmpt=q you can type in a term or terms that you want to see the Google activity for. Searches, etc as well as see graphs of the search activity. It is fully customizable by date, etc. Check it out and expect that we will use it in class!

For my 3rd period class, this is the article and interactive applet that we talked about in class. Super cool! They have animations for the 100-meter freestyle swim and other Olympics events too if you scroll to the bottom of the page. Here's a test to see who actually reads the website :) I'm posting another article full of statistics below (on Kenesio tape and its effectiveness)...I will give 2 extra credit points (to be used on your lowest test score) to any AP Stats student who brings in an article similar to either yesterday's (humorous) or today's (serious) that deals with statistics in the real world. I will award up to 20 points per student...so consider this an ongoing thing. No repeats allowed (once a student brings in an article, that article is off limits to other students). Articles can come from websites or newspapers, magazines but they must be a credible source... Happy hunting!!!
